I dont know the exact definition of darkwave but when I think darkwave these come to mind:
Iron Lung - Black Marble
Liebe Auf Den Ersten Blick - DAF
Shout - Depeche Mode
Fade to Grey - Visage
No Rain - Drab Majesty

First off I just want to welcome you all to the forums community.

Here’s a playlist of mine which should give you a good start

Darkwave is gothic rock with synths and sometimes possessing elements of dreampop, particularly in the vocals department.

Clan of Xymox are the “Bauhaus” of darkwave and pioneered the genre.

More recent notable mentions include;
